Many children experience, tonsillectomy. On Health Day, Diana Kohnle offered some tips, offered by the staff at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital on what you should expect before and after the surgery. They are:



1. Give adequate rest to the child for the first two days after surgery. In addition, offer her/him plenty of water.

2. May be the child feel quite lethargic because the energy levels may not return for two weeks.

3. While the child can eat any foods, it’s normal to not have much appetite for a few days.

4. A slight fever, nausea and pain are all normal after tonsillectomy.

5. If the child experiences bleeding and high fever, contact your doctor immediately.
