Debra Holtzman, JD, MA, an internationally recognized safety and health expert and the mind behind the new book, The Safe Baby: A Do-it-yourself Guide to Home Safety has listed 10 ways to calm a crying baby.

You might find some of them old...and your baby smart enough to give them a damn but still there are many more that you can try out. Here are the one’s I think can really work.

1.Take her for a drive in the car or for a ride to the park in her stroller.

2. Vacuum your entire home. Babies like the noise, and your home will never be so clean!

3. Put on the stereo; take her in your arms and dance to your favorite songs.

4. Give him a pacifier. If he’s teething, give him a cool teething ring.

5. Lay the baby face down across your lap and gently rub her back. (Do this while the baby is awake and you are closely watching her.)

The most important thing that the lady has put forward is that no matter how hard you are finding it to calm a baby, do not shake him at any cost. It just appears that shaking will help the baby, but it can actually pose serious consequences for the baby including death. So do mind that!!
