The warning that smoking during pregnancy lowers the weight of the baby is being misinterpreted by young girls as a good idea to reduce the pain during labor. And as a result they are ending up smoking with a view to have a smaller baby.
They are ignorant about the fact that, this kind of a low weighing baby does not reduces the pain...the labor is still painful rather the delivery turns rather complicated owing to the adverse effects of smoking.
On the contrary, they must understand that by smoking they are risking the lives of their babies who might born as preemies or even lead to miscarriage.
