Though we have been successful in tapping down the rate of teenage pregnancy but at the same time we have failed in keeping a tab on teenage abortions. An increased number of girls in the age group of 17-17 are going in for terminations. The rate of abortions has soared up by 7.5 percent in past three years.
It’s good to hear the less number of teenage conceptions...but the root cause behind the terminations still remains the same i.e. unawareness, lack of education and poverty. Strict efforts in this direction are a must have or else the young population will soon be in a ditch.
