kids and laptop

Now a days, when you visit a kid’s store, you would be surprised to see how many tech gadgets are available. And by the time you ask turn to inquire the sales person how it is operated and what to do with it, you kid will be giving you one weird look. Whew! Don’t feel you are running behind the times or backward, but only that the kids are far smarter than us when we were kids. Now, when we cant resist our love for gadgets then how do you thinks the kid born in the techno age will lag behind.
As a fact when our parents grew up with abacus and we started calculators and our kids with a computer, then there is no reason why we should be surprised that kids want tech gadgets rather than mere toys. According to ‘The New York Times’, the best gift for the preschoolers (i.e., 5-7 year olds) this year are all tech gadgets, that range from a simple MP3 music players to high-end laptops. The toys manufactures are busy catering to the growing needs of these young customers. This is not a toy thing anymore for the retailers and toy manufactures.

The distinctions between the fake and original gadgets are not only clear to the new age kid but some also even want adult laptops as presents. It may sound alarming for parents and even pediatricians. But toy manufactures like Fisher-Price, who took out the easy Internet launcher for sites appropriate for preschoolers or products like the Leap frog for the kid to learn using a keyboard using a TV screen as display, think its just to satisfy the growing need as parents tend to return fake gadgets after their kids just scorn being treated with fake things.

It may sound too much for the young ones not to run out to the park to play and instead visit social networking site to play games online. But, aren’t we amazed to see how the gadgets can help the kids learn faster. And what about a 3-year-old writing a blog? Too much!
