With an insane number of baby products out in the market, it is not surprising that few are being recalled. One such product that is being recalled is Graco 2007 Stand Alone Infant Snug Ride. Mommies, read on to find more.
The Snug ride infant car seats became extremely popular by moms and their kids. It became so popular that the product aced the ranks of the consumer report’s Best Buy. Initially, the product was designed with child safety in mind. But, it turns out that calling this product safe would be undermining it.
According to the manufacturer Graco, the backing of the seat might not be done right. The manufacturer thinks that the backing is prone to deterioration and tearing, specially after being washed. Once washed, the material becomes soggy and wet and kids can tear it with and chew it up! So, it’s clearly a health hazard. Here’s what the manufacturer had to say about their product:
Graco® has determined that the backing of the seat pad on certain stand-alone SnugRide® Infant car seats manufactured in the United States, may be prone to deterioration or tearing, especially after washing.
It’s kind of funny that the company didn’t consider this aspect before the product publicity. I hope they take these aspects into consideration before the product goes out on sale in future. Also, Graco mentioned in it’s site that until users get the seats replaced they can continue using the older version.
