As per the new study women who are exposed to high levels of hair spray during pregnancy have double risk of giving birth to a baby with a urinary tract defect.
“Women who are planning to conceive or who are in the first three months of pregnancy should look at what they are using,” the Australian quoted Prof Steve Field, chairman of the Royal College of General Practitioners, as saying.
They also urged and requested the cosmetic brands to label their brands marking out products that can be harmful for pregnant women.
“The cosmetics industry needs to look at this and clearly label their products.”
So, the next time you reach out to that cosmetic product, make sue you read the label and if possible do consult your doctor before using that product.
