If you feel yourself helpless while saying no to your gamer kid just because of the simple reason that you cannot resist video games yourself...then mark my words you are not alone. Yes, one in every three parents plays video games according to a survey conducted by Entertainment Software Association. Interestingly half of this group is women. Yes, mommies are no way less than papas when it comes to their gaming instincts.
Parents consider that video games act as a thread to bring families close to each other, as they get time to talk and laugh together there by making the familial bonds stronger. Another fact that surfaced with this survey was that parents consider that it is not the duty of the government to protect them from violent games.
If this is the case then I think parents must be very well aware of who’s responsibility it is actually. Even I’m in support of parents playing video games with kids, as it strengthens the bonding, but still parents need to keep a track of what the kids are playing and most importantly what the parents themselves are playing. Make it a point that if a violent game interests you then it’s very much possible that your child will also enjoy the same.
So first set your priorities right if you want to do the same for your kids.
