Here’s another effort directed towards heralding the importance of breast feeding. Just in sync with the World Breast Feeding Week, Phantom Financial has posted a life-sized statue of nude Angelina Jolie.
Taking inspiration from the Angelina’s picture on the cover of last year’s W magazine, the statue is quite an inspiration for mommies. It feels great to know that for the first time celeb-nudity is used to promote a great cause.
Another striking feature of the statue is the fact that it also features Angie’s twin babies.
The bronze statue demonstrates the “football-hold,” an accepted technique for breastfeeding two babies simultaneously. The monument is all set to be unveiled on September 11th at MAINSITE Contemporary Art in Norman.

I find it sickening and degrading that celeb nudity is considered necessary for promoting breastfeeding. Don’t people have better ideas ? Do you have to have a nude woman’s statue to tell other women to breastfeed their babies? I am no prude but I certainly don’t think you need to show a nude woman in order to encourage women to breastfeed. There are a hundred different ways of promoting a good cause and this is certainly not one of them. I sometimes think the so-called modern world with its ”modern ideas” is not only voyeristic but totally peverse! I bet more men would be watching the statue than women who need to know about breastfeeding and its uses for their babies! Shame on this example of a warped and decadent mind, wherever it may emanate from!
