Diabetes



As a result of increasing levels of obesity among kids, Type 2 diabetes which was till now more prominent only in middle-aged adults has started to show symptoms in kids too.



More than 100 children a year are diagnosed of this form of diabetes...and this figure has become ten times in past five years...all thanks to obesity.



With figures that show that there are around 60,000 children who are suffering from weight-related metabolic syndrome. This is a deadly combo of high blood pressure and raised cholesterol - which is considered as a stepping stone to Type 2 diabetes.



With statistics like these it seems that the children are sitting on something that can be described as a diabetes time bomb that can explode any moment and take toll on a vast number of lives.
