While a few parents are going in for pregnancy terminations in case the baby has some physical deformities, here is Jie Jie, a baby born in Shanghai who has an unusually well- formed third arm. His is an abnormal case, say doctors.
It seems the baby feels pain when being touched at any of his two left arms, as he cries at that time and smiles to any other spur. Doctors are planning a surgery on the baby but his small size is posing as a constraint.
Apart from this defect, Jie Jie was born with just one kidney, which is again a matter of major anxiety among the doctors as it can bring serious complications in later stages.
We hope that the two-month-old baby comes out smiling from the hospital he is admitted, as it is one of the best in dealing with such deformities.
Jie Jie’s success will definitely act as a means of influencing the attitudes of parents on matters concerning abortion based on physical defects in the baby.
