Fisher-Price is all set to hit the market with an MP3 player that’s meant for your infant.
It’s not an iPod but an iTod...for it’s for the toddlers. Yes, you heard that right bricks no longer cut it for hi-tech toddlers. Digital music players for three-year-olds are the new battleground in the £20 billion toy industry.
Parents can choose the songs that they want to play for their infant from iTunes-Style online store. Apart from this the iTod features tiny volume-restricted headphones that are designed to cause no harm to your baby’s delicate eardrums. Priced at £45, the iTod can store up to six songs and two =spoken words stories.
This comes as a clear attempt from music industry to knock at the toddlers market that is being looked upon as a prospective market for digital toys.
Amid all this money churning business an important fact that’s being ignored is the effect that early exposure to technology can have on kids. Apart from posing a health threat it will also cut down on the socializing aspect and leaving all alone in their tech-world.
