Vitamins are not always good for pregnant women. A recent research conducted by the charity Tommy’s revealed that high doses of vitamin supplements may increase a pregnant women’s susceptibility to pre-eclampsia.
Pre- eclampsia, is a situation where the blood pressure rises at levels which can be threatening to both the mother as well as the baby.
Usually it is Vitamin C and E that are considered as helpful in this situation, but as per the research women at high risk should avoid taking them in high doses.
Careful management is being looked upon as the best way to track the risk of pre-eclampsia .
