fruit-juice_5The sugar content in fruit juice had been a matter of anxiety with a number of parents. The notion that the sugar levels in 100% fruit juice can trigger the obesity levels in kids was confusing the parents as to how much juice is OK for their kids.

To help parents in this regard, Theresa Nicklas, professor of pediatrics, Baylor College of Medicine, states that kids aged 1- 6 years can be given 4-6 ounces of 100% juice while 8-12 ounces is fine for those from 7-18 years. Apart from this, the study clearly stated that having juice is nowhere related to swelling Body Mass Index.

As per Professor, parents should be confident about giving juice to their kids for 100 percent fruit juices provide substantial amounts of vitamin C, potassium and folate to the diet, consuming which becomes difficult otherwise.
