Healthy Start program triggered off in Britain will give free fruits, veggies, and milk formula to pregnant women with low incomes. According to the program all the children hailing from low-income households and falling under the age group of 1-4 will be entitled to all these things said BBC.
These things will come in shape of vouchers worth $5.50, which the mothers will be able to reimburse at nearly 20,000 retailers. Parents with kids under 1 year of age will receive two of these vouchers.
Pregnant women, low-income children and babies will receive free fruit, vegetables and formula under the British “Healthy Start” program.
The concept of vouchers is really good as with this approach there will be no chances that parents will use the money for some other purpose other than using it for providing healthy diet to their babies.
