obesity_09_50Recent findings have postulated that nearly 75 million children are overweight and 5.1 million are suffering from obesity in the European Union.

Tim Lobstein of the London-based International Association for the Study of Obesity asserted that there are 300,000 more obese children each year.

He said the scientific community knows little about preventing child obesity but added, we may have focused too much on the child and not enough on the environment.

I feel it is the collective responsibility of both parents and children to fight back obesity. Parents must encourage their wards to eat healthy and nutritious diet and children on their part must indulge in outdoor activities, which involve physical action.
