crawling baby

Ever wondered why only human babies crawl before they learn to walk on their legs. Personally I used to believe that infants’ limbs are not strong enough to hold their body weight and therefore by crawling they gradually learn walking when their leg muscles acquire enough strength. Well this is also very right, but the new study published by EmbarazoeHijos confirms that crawling is indeed a crucial phase in all infants. The fact that infants cannot crawl before a particular age group is as their limbs are not suited to the task of crawling. However some babies can directly take up walking and never crawl. That means they have stronger muscles, which helps them in lifting their body weight and makes walking easier.

All infants differ from each other and that’s why some begin crawling at an early age of six months whereas others can delay and begin crawling at ten months.

As soon as a baby begins crawling, his muscles and joints of arms, legs, back and neck begin to develop as they now come in full exercise. The crawling is also essential to a baby as it helps in balancing and judging far and near objects. This also helps baby in reaching areas of his liking and gives him freedom of movement.

All one has to take care while a baby starts crawling is that the surface should be kept clean and safe, keep an eye as the baby can pick little and swallow things while he crawls, make sure no sharp or heavy object comes in his way, and most importantly never leave a baby unattended as he crawls.
