Meet Anty, this is no toy...rather a robot that is developed by the Robotics & Multibody Research Group out of Brussels University, with a view to be friends with all those kids who are in the hospital for considerably longer periods.
‘Anty’ is described an intelligent ‘huggy’ robot as it can hug kids to make them happy apart from talking, walking and showing emotions. The final model that will come after this initial prototype will feature a multifunctional LCD screen in its stomach.
I can see an interesting ‘fun agent’ for hospitalized kids in Anty...provided it doesn’t scare away the kids...otherwise it will surely make them recover soon as happiness is the greatest doctor.
